GENERAL INFORMATION

SERVICE PROVIDER – EXPRESS ROAD DELIVERIES

• Express Direct Load for client deliveries offered.
• Overnight delivery to all regions according to time frames inserted
• Email of load/manifests are available daily.
• These transmittals will be via e-mail once the vehicles have departed regions and are in transit already.
• Any changes during the “night” process will be advised to clients by cell phone and a follow up email thereafter.
• 24/7 monitoring and update if requested.
• All delivery – 1 pick up – 1 drop off.
• All time sensitive deliveries.

DETAILING :

  • Booking time (standing time)
  • Departure time
  • Various vehicle specifications to choose from (See Fleet)
  • Estimated time of arrival (ETA)
  • Any further details required by the client

FULL LOADS – EXPRESS ONE STOP

A full load consists of one collection point and one delivery point, thus ensuring speedy delivery of critical parts. These loads move directly from collection client to delivery point with limited stoppage.

CONSOLIDATION SERVICE (Less than load LTL)

1. This service is available daily. Mon – Fri, 07:00 – 15:30.
2. Rates according to client’s requirements, but see Ultra Economy options.
3. Door to door or depot to depot service available.
4. No consolidation available as Express service.
5. Cut off for collection at all centres @ 15:30 daily, Monday to Friday only.
6. Consolidation (LTL) hours 48 – 72 from receipt at depot / terminals.
7. Cargo not of an urgent nature may be shipped as “less than a load” (LTL).
8. All depots do make available to clients delivery & collection from sites options too.
9. Rates as quoted.
10. Additional collections and deliveries will be charged for.

RETURN LOADS / ROTATION LOADS

1. Special rates are available for “In and Out” cargo per client based on the same moving cycle.
2. 24 hour availability.
3. Any cargo returning from major centres is based on same service as above.
4. Departure times as per usual service afford client.

HANDLING

1. We are equipped to handle from a 2 ton to 7,5 ton forklift’s which is mainly used to service our consolidation centre.
2. A 25 ton container forklift is available for larger items as well as container movement. (In our Durban, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg centres).
3. An 80 ton weighbridge facility at our Wadeville depot is also in use for preparing of loads according to Government regulations.
4. Pallet jacks are available with vehicles at times. If needed clients must advise when and where this assistance is required. Charges relating to offloading or loading will be levied.
5. Kindly note that manual labour for handling freight is prohibited unless arranged.
6. Wrapping, strapping and packaging also offered and available on request (enquire on pricing).

INSURANCE

GOODS-IN-TRANSIT INSURANCE COVER

1. This is optional, and we would suggest you check with your insurance company in order to avoid duplicating GIT cover on cargo.
2. Costing schedules can be prepared with/without insurance as per your requirements.
3. In-transit insurance cover of R500 000.00 (five hundred thousand rand) per load is available, but must be requested and noted on all waybills. This covers fire, accident and overturning only and there is a 15% excess thereon for the clients account. Cost of insurance is 1.5% of value of the cargo.
4. In accordance with our goods in-transit policy, our drivers are not permitted to load/off-load cargo at the client’s premises – any labour required is to be requested on specific loads and cost thereof.
5. The onus is therefore on the client to ensure labour is available for loading/off-loading purposes. No responsibility for this process is accepted either.
6. Unsuitable packaging or items within packed, sealed units cannot be inspected. Therefore all loose sealed items will be accepted on outside visual only and no responsibility for contents can be accepted. A contents not checked policy is “common cause” at all times.

DOMESTIC AIRFREIGHT
ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES

WAYBILLS / PROOF OF DELIVERY (POD)

1. CBM have their own waybills, which are in five part format.
2. These are supplied at no extra cost.
3. The despatch clerk will complete the documents / cargo and countersign same.
4. CBM, the transporter, will not be held responsible for any losses where the packaging has not been damaged and the contents of containers do not comply with customer’s delivery note.
5. A copy will be left with despatch as proof that CBM has the cargo.
6. The remaining copies will be signed and stamped by the receiver upon receipt and returned to our office.
7. Once the consignment has been invoiced, documentation as well as POD’s will be forwarded to the relevant person/s concerned, on a daily basis.
8. At certain clients a paperless scanning system is operable and this is subject to implementation on contractual long term agreements only.

INVOICING

1. POD’s are checked upon receipt at our Main Administration office. (Includes a scanned copy if required).
2. An invoice is raised, and the POD attached thereto. (CBM & Customer delivery notes attached).
3. Documents are generally hand-delivered to clients and therefore receipt thereof is noted so as to avoid unnecessary delay in payments being made.
4. Internet access is also afforded clients who require the “paperless” network we offer.
5. Integrated systems may be an option and merits considered on each individual requirement.
6. Scanning and e-mailing options available too. (Invoicing & POD’s).

STATEMENTS

1. Both invoice and POD’s are attached to the statement and delivered personally to the relevant person\s concerned, on a weekly or monthly basis.
2. Statements are processed monthly – invoices and POD’s are delivered on a daily basis.
3. The CBM Network’s working month is from the 26th to the 25th. (Cut off times for month end documents is 2 days after the 25th of the month to be included in month).
4. Scanning and e-mailing options available to all clients. (Contact sales to get linked).

PAYMENT TERMS

1. Strictly 30 days FROM date of statement and / or interest charge WILL be levied.
2. E-mail system for invoices, POD’s and Statements available.
3. Overdue Accounts will be followed up timeously.
4. Default payees are reminded of the “New Credit Act”.
5. Credit Applications are controlled by Compuscan and all risky collections of any nature referred to them.
6. Paying your account promptly is requested.

CREDIT APPLICATION

1. A Credit Application must be completed in full (all details) prior to an official account being opened.
2. COD loads are welcome on a “once-off” collection or delivery basis.
3. Credit Application forms are available on request from our offices.

TARIFF SCHEDULES

1. All rates are afforded to clients by request only.
2. Tariffs include the transport charges and documentation.
3. A diesel levy surcharge (DLS) is effected on each delivery. This levy covers the fluctuating diesel prices levied by the Government periodically. Notification of changes will be done.
4. All tariffs are quoted VAT and Toll Fees Exclusive.
5. All tariffs exclude insurance unless specified in your particular proposal.
6. All proposed rates are classified private and confidential.
7. Annual Increment effective May at Management’s discretion.
8. Tariffs will be based on either per metric ton or cents per kg, e.g.

3. Departures between these times (18h00 – 12h00 the next day) is deemed to be an ALTERNATIVE SERVICE.
4. Refer to the Conditions of Transport on page 4 of this Profile for Goods-in-Transit Insurance, Cancellations, Demurrage and Packaging Clauses.
